Yay! And definitely. Doing, drawing, all that good stuff.
Yup we have interactive word walls. They write the word, draw a picture to help them remember, and together we write a sentence using the word which they write on the back. They can also come up with their own sentence for the back. I punch a whole on the cards...

I love it. I’ve taught ELL students before, just not as many.

Things that made me feel good:
I mentioned how I had my students show the class their excited faces which was one of our vocabulary words. Most of my students are second language learners, and I feel like quick opportunities to act out words helps the meanings stick.
I mostly mentioned it because of something funny that happened when we did it. (I don’t even know how to explain it here).
