I have never been assigned jury duty. I’ve been wishing for it for years.

And my stepdad just got it for the second time. WHY NOT ME, AMERICA?

Me too!  But I would never serve because my boyfriend’s a cop.

They’d be all like, “How are your feelings towards law enforcement?”

And I’d be all, “Lawyer, please, I’m a badge bunny.”

My dad was a bailiff and now works at juvenile court.   I have a cousin who is a police officer, my grandpa was a sheriff, and many police officers work for my dad (he has a separate business from his day job).  I was called for jury duty, AND selected — the case was a law suit having to do with improper building of a home.   So, if it is a case like that, you still have an excellent chance of being selected.  They like having teachers.

Side note: I was the forewoman even though I was the 2nd youngest on the jury.  The case was being held at the court house that my dad used to work at (and he often took me for a day).  I knew where everything was, how a lot of things worked in cases there, unknown facts about the court house (part of Air Force One was filmed there), and a lot of the people that still worked in the courthouse.   I LOVED it.
