I've found that people who do TeachforAmerica, for example, don't really want to be teachers, but don't mind teaching since it's so short term and the training is brief. Obama is trying to get more young people into the field regardless of how they feel about education. I agree with what you're saying; we should instead be investing in the professionals who are doing this as a more than a career, but as a way of life.
Why are we putting them in the classroom if they don’t really want to be teachers? How is that fair to any kid?
