I need to make emergency sub plans. I usually update them monthly, but this year I never even made them!

I did make a sub folder though that listed the schedules, procedures, rules, car riders and walkers, group lists, extensions for important people, and emergency procedures (for fire drills and what not).

I need to come up with some generic literacy centers that they could do (at least two days worth) that would work on are targets and not be specific to one book (most activities fit one book’s theme that I have and we change books each week).  I also need to type up exactly how I want it done, because I often take my teacher manual’s home with me and if I am out unexpectedly, my plans won’t be much use to them.

I also need:

Laminated name tags

1 generic art activity and materials

4 math centers and materials

Typed up directions for Music and Movement

Typed up directions for how centers work

List of good books for read alouds that I have in the class

$1.25 in case they are in dire need of a pop

It all needs to go in my sub tub.

If I was as sick as I was yesterday with food poisoning and had work, there is no way I could go in.  I spent quality time in the bathroom — and I won’t describe it.  There’s also no way I could have driven myself in to school to prepare for a sub and head home.  I took all of the teacher manuals home this weekend, so it would not have been good.

What do you do to prepare for subs?
