I think I’ve said several times on here, and in life — that I am a huge fan of the P.S. 22 Chorus. Many of you have probably heard of them since they were on the Oscars and were noticed by Perez Hilton, Tori Amos, and Oprah.
However, there is something to be said about this teacher Mr.B. He is able to create bigger and bigger successes with his students each year, although new students come in each year while older ones leave. He never seems to brag about himself — he is always singing the kids’ praises. However, his excitement and passion for music and teacher are very evident in his body language and expression. The kids respond so well to him. While I do not have any form of musical talent anywhere in me, he is a “Teacher Role-model” of mine. It is evident throughout his blog and the videos posted from the choir that he loves teaching and his students are absolutely inspired by him.
Here Mr. B. and his students discuss the importance of music education, creativity, and the confidence this program have given these middle school students.
