This is my friend Emily, an English Teacher from Australia, currently in Japan near the plant. I met her while teaching abroad in 2005, and we’ve stayed in contact ever since. She lives near the nuclear power plant that has been having problems. She’s been evacuated, and I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to hear her voice. I can tell you that she sounds very scared, and very tired. I’ve been so worried about her, but I am hopeful she will find her way to Tokyo and then home soon.
