Method’s sea trash-based soap bottle to debut this fall
At long last, Method is set to release the world’s first soap container — or any sort of container, for that matter — made partially from plastic trash recovered from the beaches of Hawaii.
Free resources for teachers, and free games for kids. It is all for environmental education (Canadian-run site). Some of the topics covered are wildlife, climate change, land use, and water. I could see it being used in the K-5 classrooms. For those with Interactive White Boards, it might be a good site to use as an introduction.
Daryl Hannah arrested for protesting proposed Canadian oilsands pipeline
Actress Daryl Hannah, famous for her movie roles in Splash and Wall Street, was among dozens of anti-oilsands activists arrested Tuesday at the White House in ongoing “sit in” protests against TransCanada Corp.’s proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

Alaska to appeal decision to leave polar bears on threatened species list
The Alaska governor argues that polar bears have thrived during other climate change events, and that with a population that has doubled in the past 40 years the bears do not require protection.
