This is a post about teachers. It’s a post to show you how much you’re loved and how eager most people are to pitch in. Sometimes they just need to be asked.
It’s a post that reminds us about how great our friends are. It’s about an innocent conversation about a rough school year that sparked an idea in this particular friend’s mind. and before she knew it, just about every one of her friends and family members began donating supplies. Giant mountains of supplies. All to help a young teacher they’ve never met.
This is a post about finding new enthusiasm during a difficult school year. But more importantly, it’s about remembering that the world really is filled with kind, caring people.

So awesome!

Dear All You Wonderful People of Tumblr,

As the Amazon gifting began, I forced myself not to check the list of what was purchased and what was not — so that when the packages showed it up, it would be a surprise!

Today I checked.

There are only two items left that have been marked “purchased” left to arrive.

Those items are: The Quiet Book and Nate the Great: Monster Mess.

Some packages I received said that the items that were in the box were sent separately from the other items in order to arrive in a timely manner.  I don’t know which items went to which because most of the packing slips I got did not have any names on it.  If you purchased one of the above books, I wouldn’t worry, unless Amazon has told you it arrived.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help.  I will let you know when I have updated the list with the Pre-K items I am “wishing” for.

Lots of love to you all.

Dear Honey,

I’m sorry.

I am a conservative husband, belong to the Tea Party and I voted for John Kasich. I have been married to a Cleveland teacher for almost 14 years and my vote let her down.

I apologize:

For letting people tease you about having the summer off and not asking them to thank you for the tough days ahead that begin in early August. I know for a fact you work more hours in those 10 months than many people do in 12. All those hours are earned.

For complaining that my Sunday is limited with you because you must work.

For making you think you have to ask permission to buy a student socks, gloves and hats.

For not understanding that you walk through a metal detector for work.

For leaving dirty dishes in the sink [when you awoke] for your 4 a.m. work session. I should know you have to prepare.

For thinking you took advantage of the taxpayers. Our governor continues to live off the taxpayer dole, not you.

For counting the time and money you spend to buy school supplies.

For not saying “thank you” enough for making the world and me better.

I love you.
